Washington Post's Roberto Ferdman
In a recent article in the Washington Post, Roberto Ferdman discusses the work of a new book entitled Soda Politics. Soda Politics invites the reader into a historical view of marketing using the lens of Coca-Cola. We see how Coke made a name for itself by aligning with the war effort in World War II. The reader also sees how the Atlanta Coca-Cola factory presents the soft drink in terms of happiness and not refreshment, a key to its marketing success.

Coca-Cola Factory, Atlanta, Georgia

Based on your understanding of these two types of data, Discuss how companies like Coca-Cola might use (a) qualitative and (b) quantitative data to measure the effectiveness of marketing of their products. Be sure to use language presented in the SciVis curriculum to make your points.
